
Histoverse โ A Platform to Visualize Human History and Shape the Future
Histoverse is developed and maintained by the nonprofit organization Human Histories, with support from donations.
Histoverse is the flagship project promoted by the nonprofit organization Human Histories.
Its mission is to visualize human history, foster shared understanding, and inspire actions for the future by organizing and publishing vast amounts of historical data from around the world.
Concept
Across the globe, differences in nations, cultures, and educational backgrounds have led to significant gaps in how history is understood and interpreted. These differences have often caused misunderstandings, conflicts, and even wars.
Histoverse was launched to address these challenges.

Explore the flow of history from hundreds of millions of years BCE to the present. -

Visualize causal relationships among events and investigate chains of historical influence. -

Place events on a map and understand historical connections that transcend borders. -
Multilingual Support (14+ languages)
Available in English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Korean, Spanish, French, and other major languages.
Recommended Environment
For the best experience with Histoverse, the following environment is recommended (based on official Splunk references):
- Splunk Enterprise 9.0 or later (9.3 or later recommended)
- Required Apps: WebGL Globe Viz, Network Diagram Viz (both free)
- Hardware Requirements (Search Head baseline)
- CPU: 16 physical cores or 32 vCPUs (โฅ 2GHz)
- Memory: 12GB or more
- Storage: 300GB or more
- Recommended Browsers : Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari (latest versions)

Histoverse data is published as open data.

Relatos is a relational atlas visualization library that renders the same relational data across multiple views.
Developed by Human Histories, a non-profit organization working to make human history data open, accessible, and reusable.

The source code, dashboard configurations, and associated scripts of the Histoverse App will be provided under the MIT License upon release.
Under the terms of the MIT License:
- The software may be used, copied, modified, merged, published, and redistributed free of charge
- The copyright notice and license text must be included in all copies
- The software is provided โAS ISโ, without warranty of any kind

Data Content License
Histoverse includes content derived from Wikipedia and Wikidata for visualization purposes.
โป This project integrates and reconstructs content from a large number of Wikipedia articles and Wikidata items.
These data contents are provided under the
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.
In accordance with the CC BY-SA 4.0 terms:
- Attribution to the original sources is required
- Derivative works must be shared under the same license
